Bold attention has been drawn at last to the socio-cultural place and implications of our stolen national treasure, artifacts/antiquities which happened centuries ago.

This comes in a well packaged epic movie, titled “The Treasure Map”, scripted, directed and produced Femi Lasode who have since carved a niche for himself in movie-related concerns.

The production was packaged by his company, “Afrika ‘n’ Vogue, Vogue/ Even-Ezra studio, Victoria Island, Lagos. It is a 90 minutes extract from the video series, titled “Afrika’s Stolen Treasures”.

Lasode who has a name as a script writer, director and producer, is equally reputed to have an impressive chronology of bringing his movies on schedule and within budget, amidst challenges.

Industry watchers say each of Lasode’s productions has returned profits.

“He is experienced and hard-working too, which has been demonstrated intermittently at intervals in course of obtaining the essential supporting cast and crew suitable to the needs of his productions, which was well documented in the “The Treasure Map” under showcase,” said a source who has seen the film.

“It is worthy to note here that Lasode’s track record shows his obvious ability to deliver effectively productions on schedule and within the budget provided and agreed.

“Being aware and always conscious of the place of celebrated actors/actresses in any package, worth its salt, encouraged him to go for the best hands in Nollywood.

“This undoubtedly finds explanation in the careful selection of veterans like late Chief Eddie Ugboma, late Larry Williams, Late Gbenga Richards, Paul Obazele, Jide Kosoko, Alariwo of Africa, Seyi Allen, Femi Robinson, Phillipe Dupriez and Belinda Effah,” the source added.

Lasode has the reputation of packaging celebrated productions like “Sango”, the re-incarnation of the African legendary king, The lost Heritage of Africa, Paradise Park, a comedy series which featured the daily activities of an imaginary motor park in Lagos, designed to be a microscopic representation of Nigeria.
