Barely 24 hours after dozens of Deeper Life Church members escaped death after their chartered BRT bus was engulfed by fire while on motion along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, a similar accident has occurred Monday evening as popular Lagos yellow bus called Danfo caught fire along Funsho Williams Avenue by the National Stadium bridge in Lagos leaving five passengers dead.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the Volkswagen commercial bus with registration number AND 996 XC caught fire as it descended the bridge inward barracks bus stop at about 6.44 pm.
Before help could arrived, five passengers -a child, three female and a man- were not that lucky as they were burnt beyond recognition.
The official of Lagos State Emergency Agency, LASEMA, who raced to the scene on rescue mission, confirmed the incident.
The agency said the victims charred bodies have been recovered from the bus and deposited at an undisclosed hospital while five other persons were rescued with severe burn and have also been rushed to the hospital.

Governor Ambode should hurry up and ban all Danfo buses. They are not safe. Lagos transit can do do better with safety first as the slogan, first and foremost. All substandard forms of transit including maruwa should have no place in a mega city like Lagos or any civilized city.
