Foundation Of Proposed Ogbunike High Court Laid

The foundation of the proposed Ogbunike High Court has been laid with a call on the indigenes to leverage on the project when completed and commissioned.

The foundation stone was laid by the Executive Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Chief (Dr.) Willie Obiano, in the presence of the immediate past Chief Judge of Anambra State, Justice Ijem Onwuamaegbu Rtd.

Speaking shortly after the foundation laying, the President General of Ogbunike community, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State, Engr. Nnamdi Nwadiogbu, PhD, expressed delight with the choice of Ogbunike as the town for such a project.

Engr. Nwadiogbu, who doubles as the transition committee chairman of Oyi Local Government, eulogised the executive Governor of Anambra State, Chief (Dr.) Willie Mmaduaburochukwu Obiano and her beloved wife Chief Dr. Ebelechukwu Obiano, for agreeing to site what he (Nwadiogbu) described as an exceptional project in Ogbunike.

His words, “Since the history of democracy in Anambra State, the present administration led by His Excellency Chief Willie Obiano has delivered many infrastructural development mostly in rural areas of the state”.

“He is the first Governor to award and construct roads in Ogbunike after so many years; today we are here to celebrate yet again another milestone achievement as Chief Willie Obiano performs the foundation laying of an ultra modern High Court on the soil of Ogbunike, which will be boldly written in history book. With this, Akpokuedike has shown that he is a pace setter.”

“I wish to in a very special way appreciate the efforts of our people, who had continued to show support and love for the Governor since 2013 when he was first elected Governor of the state and equally exercised patience with him. I have always known that at the maturity of time; he will repay our massive support to him and his administration.”

‘Today, we now have in Ogbunike good tarred roads, a Magistrate Court, Ultra Modern e- Library project and now High Court all on the soil of Ogbunike, these go a long way to show that our willingness and readiness for development remains top notch and we are ready to continue to support his Excellency and his beloved Wife, who coincidentally hails from Ogbunike, surely she’s a gift to our people and the state in General.”

“This project when completed will spur massive development in not just Ogbunike but Oyi Local Government Area.

“I thank everyone who directly or indirectly played a role in making this a huge success. I wish to also use this medium to appreciate the superlative efforts of the retiring Chief Judge of Anambra State, Honourable Justice Ijemabalum Onwuamaegbu, under whose leadership this milestone was achieved and to equally bid her successful and happy retirement as the people of Ogbunike and Oyi LGA will continue to pray for her” he concluded.
