A 21-year old, Qudus Rasak, who was arrested with human head, has confessed that what was found with him belonged to his friend, Kazeem, who was seriously in need of money.
The suspect was arrested at Abule-Eko, Ijede area of Ikorodu, Lagos with a case bag containing the human head and some leaves suspected to be charms on his way to an undisclosed place.
He was unlucky as police operatives suspected his movement, accosted him, forced him to open the bag and the human head was found inside it. He was arrested immediately and detained at the SCIID Panti-Yaba for investigation.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that during investigation Rasak maintained that it was his friend that gave him the bag which contained the human head. He claimed that he did not know where he brought the human head from; who he killed and collected his head.
Rasak said that he was a brick layer and had met Kazeem in the course of their work in Ikorodu where he handed the bag to him.
However, the police found Rasak culpable and charged him before the Ebute Metta Magistrates court for being in possession of human head.
The court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Inspector Bayo, asked the court that the matter be referred to DPP for advice.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. O.O. Olatunji, ordered Rasak to be remanded in prison custody and also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to DPP for advice. The matter was adjourned till 15th October, 2018, for report of DPP to be ready.
