Former World Footballer of the year and leading presidential candidate in Liberia, George Opong Weah, on Sunday, was at The Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), Lagos, to attend their service.
Pastor Temitope B. Joshua, Senior Pastor of the church told the congregants that Weah, who was in attendance with Senator Yormie Johnson, Liberian former warlord, was in the church to know God’s opinion about his country.
Joshua, who welcomed Weah during his sermon, said “my brother is here today because he loves his country and wants God’s choice for his country.
“He is not here to impose himself. What does God say about his country, Liberia? What is God’s opinion? That is why he is here.”
Joshua disclosed that Liberia’s incumbent vice president and Weah’s contender in the coming presidential run-off, Joseph Boakai, had also contacted him to request a meeting.
The presidential run-off election between Weah and Boakai is scheduled to hold on November 7.
Joshua then admonished Nigerians to also seek God’s opinion concerning the country.
He said God had answers to every problem.
The Synagogue leader reiterated that he was not favouring any particular side of the political spectrum in the Liberian affair but his own role was to pray for the will of God to be done in Liberia.
