P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the victim was delivered of a baby girl five weeks ago at Bariga area of Lagos, where the ugly incident happened without the clear picture who among the two suspects actually impregnated her.
However, one of the suspects, Dayo A Maker, has been arrested and detained over the act. He reportedly confessed that he actually conspired with his friend, Kazeem Bello and raped the victim.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana in Lagos. He said that on 11th September, 2019, at about 1920 hours, Bariga Police Station received a complaint that sometime in November, 2018, that one Mr. Kazeem Bello, about 26 years of age conspired with one Dayo A Maker, 24, of No. 26 Oreshegun Street, Elaje Bariga, Lagos and gang raped the 13-year old girl.
He said that the survivor became pregnant as a result of the defilement and gave birth to a baby girl about five weeks ago. DSP Bala said that the suspect had earlier threatened to kill the survivor if she tells anybody about what they did.
The Police spokesman said that the survivor later summoned courage to narrate her ordeal to her family when the same suspect threatened to rape her younger sister.
One of the suspects, Dayo Maker, was arrested by detectives from the Family Support Unit, Bariga, while his accomplice Mr. Kazeem Bello, is at large. Investigation is ongoing; efforts are emplaced to apprehend the second suspect and they will be charged to Court after the conclusion of investigation.
