A 19-year old girl, Rumasau Muhammed, has admitted before Court that she actually killed her husband, 35-year-old Mohammed Adamu, by stabbing him with a knife until he died because she was forced to get married to him.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the estranged wife was arrested and subsequently charged before the Yola Chief Magistrate Court for murder.

The young Rumasau, who hails from Wuro Yanka, Shelleng Local Government Area of Adamawa, was said to have killed her husband after the man refused her repeated requests for divorce.

She told the Court that she had gone into the marriage against her will and never wanted to be in it even for one day and she sought for divorce but he refused.

The marriage was said to have lasted just three weeks before she took it upon herself to end it by killing the deceased.

The marriage was contracted on 6th August, 2021, and she went the dastardly way out of it three weeks later, following which she was arrested and then charged to Court.

The Police alleged that after she inflicted the knife wounds on her husband on a fateful day, the husband fell down, slipped into unconsciousness, and was rushed to the hospital, where he was later confirmed dead.

When the charge was read to her in Court, she admitted to committing the offence.

The prosecutor then urged the Court to adjourn the matter to enable the Police transmit the case file to the Directorate of Public Prosecution for legal advice.

The Chief Magistrate, Aliyu Bawuro, consequently ordered that the defendant be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case to 13th October, 2021.
