In its drive to boost the development of the education sector in Nigeria, technology company, Globacom, has urged tertiary institutions in Oyo State to adopt the digital solutions the company is renowned for to enhance productivity, security and operational efficiency.
Mr. Zakari Usman, Head of Enterprise Business, Globacom, said this on Thursday at a meeting the company held in Ibadan, the state capital, with representatives of various private tertiary institutions in the state.
The meeting was presided over by the State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Waheed Adelabu, who had in August facilitated a similar meeting with representatives of government-owned higher institutions in the state.
The Enterprise Business Head, West Region, Globacom, Mr. Adeniyi Odejobi, declared that the company was willing to partner with the schools in such areas as connectivity services, e-governance, smart learning, data vending, security surveillance, sponsored data, Glo Smart Health and closed user group serialised numbers.
“These solutions will enhance administrative effectiveness, service delivery, and ease of internet connectivity, among other areas of possible collaboration”, he stated.
Mr Odejobi explained that the educational solutions from the company were necessary for ensuring that Internet of Things becomes widespread in the schools to inculcate user-friendly interface, personalised learning paths, interactive content, comprehensive reporting and analytics in addition to other solutions.
In his welcome remarks, the Commissioner thanked Globacom for its consistent support for the education ministry and its aspirations for the schools in the state. He expressed the hope that the digital offerings from Glo would boost the ministry’s drive towards entrenching educational best practices in the state.
