GOC 7 Division Conducts Operational & Familiarization Visit To Formations And Units Under Command

On assumption of duty as the 13th General Officer Commanding and Commander Sector 1 Joint Task Force NorthEast Operation HADIN KAI, Major General Peter Malla, has commenced operational and farmiliarization visits to formations and units under command to assess, evaluate and appraise their operational readiness and proficiency in the ongoing Counter Terrorism and Counter Insurgency Operations across the Division’s Area of Responsibility (AOR) in the North East Theatre of Operation.

The GOC, who conducted the visit between Thursday, 20 – 2 August 2023 was at Headquarters 21 Special Armoured Brigade Bama, 24 Tasks Force Brigade Dikwa, 26 Tasks Force Brigade Gwoza as well as 7 Division Garrison Maiduguri respectively. The visits to these formations and units under Command was to enable him acquaint himself with troops deployment, security situation and activities of both the locals and other critical stakeholders within his AOR.

During the visits, the GOC was received and briefed by the various Field Commanders. He was later taken on guided tours to some strategic locations where he met, addressed and shower encomiums on the troops for their resilience, doggedness and untiring efforts and commitment towards the fight against insurgency. While applauding their collective efforts towards keeping and maintaining peace and security in their AOR, the GOC charged the troops not to relent on their effort but to maintain aggressive posture through constant clearance patrol and ambush operations along the adverseries suspected crossing routes.

Also, in an efforts to enhance on the already established synergy and cooperation between the Division and it’s host communities, the GOC paid courtesy visit to the Royal Fathers within the Division’s AOR in Bama, Dikwa and Gwoza where he solicited for their support and cooperation, and they in turn commended the selfless sacrifices of the the Nigerian Army in the ongoing fight against the Boko Haram Terrorists and their Islamic State of West African Province counterparts.

Furthermore, while expressing their immense appreciation on the tremendous successes recorded which has ushered in relative peace and tranquility in their domains and thereafter gave their assurances for continuous support and collaboration towards winning the war while wishing the Division unparallel victory in all her future operations.
