Fowosere Queens Team Manager, Oluwadamilare Adejayan
Team Manger of Fowosere Queens Oluwadamilare Adejayan has dedicated his team’s victory to God following their 3-2 penalty shootouts against Royal Toms in the final of Olori Hadijat Gbadamosi Memorial Female Football Competition.
The pulsating encounter was played recently at Igando Palace Playground, Alimosho, Lagos. Both teams played goalless draw before Fowosere triumphed in the penalty shootouts.
Adejayan popularly known as Fowosere expressed gratitude to God for the hard fought victory. He said both teams played well but his girls were more technically better to have come out victorious.
“I dedicate this title to God because when we started this journey many clubs wanted to beat us. We came to the competition with positive mind and we thank God that we shamed our critics. I thank our fans for their unrelenting support and above all, I thank God for this victory because if not for God, we might not reach the final not to talk of winning the trophy,” he said.
Royal Tons Coach, Royal Olajide said that his opponents were lucky to have won the game. He insisted that his team were better than their opponents, saying that penalty shootout could go either side.
Match coordinator, Prince Sulaiman Gbadamosi said the closing ceremony was successful and congratulated both finalists for reaching the final stage. He said both teams were deserved to play in the final, noting that Fowosere Queens played better to become the champions.
