As Europe’s biggest leagues return, Goldberg brings instant airtime and weekly N250,000 wins to participating bars across Nigeria.

The jerseys are coming back out. Weekend plans are being rearranged. Group chats are warming up again. Across Nigeria, the familiar arguments about who will win the league have already begun.

Football is back. And so is Goldberg’s Back to Bar. The return comes after a first edition that gave consumers more than the usual matchday experience. Through the first Back to Bar edition, consumers received instant airtime rewards, while selected winners earned trips to the United Kingdom and Qatar to experience football beyond their local viewing centres and bars.

Now, Goldberg is bringing the campaign back with Back to Bar 2.0, retaining the instant rewards while introducing something new to the mix: weekly N250,000 cash prizes for consumers at participating outlets.

With La Liga already underway and the Premier League returning on Friday, August 21, followed by another weekend of major European league action, club football is once again taking over screens and conversations around the world. In Nigeria, some of those conversations will inevitably end up where many of the best football moments are experienced: at the bar, surrounded by friends, rival fans, cold bottles and 90 minutes of completely unpredictable drama.

Goldberg is adding another reason to make the trip.

The beer brand has rolled out Back to Bar 2.0, the latest edition of its nationwide consumer promotion, giving consumers the opportunity to enjoy instant airtime rewards and a chance to win N250,000 every week at participating outlets in Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, Benin, Makurdi, Jos, Yola .

Running from August through November 2026, the promotion lands just as the new football season gathers momentum – a period when bars across the country once again become meeting points for fans following their clubs, debating line-ups and celebrating, or recovering from, the weekend’s results.

And the mechanics are straightforward: Consumers who purchase two bottles of Goldberg at participating outlets receive 400 worth of airtime and an entry into the weekly cash draw.

Then comes the bigger possibility: 250,000 naira win.Every week throughout the promotion, consumers will emerge as cash winners, turning what might have started as an ordinary evening at the bar into a considerably better story to tell.

The simplicity is important because Back to Bar 2.0 is ultimately built around something bigger than the reward: bringing people together. Football makes that idea particularly relevant.

“The first edition of Back to Bar showed us just how strongly consumers connected with the campaign. The response was clear people showed up, participated, and made it a part of their experience. Seeing that success made it an easy decision to bring it back. With Back to Bar 2.0, we are building on that momentum by creating even more opportunities for consumers to come together, enjoy their time at the bars and be rewarded,” said, Kunle Aroyehun, Senior Manager, Goldberg, Nigerian Breweries Plc.

Goldberg Back to Bar 2.0 runs at participating outlets nationwide until November 30, 2026. Consumers must be of legal drinking age. Terms and conditions apply.
