Good News For Azu Ogbunike As Obidi Onyezia Awards Scholarship To Indigenes

At the just concluded Azu Ogbunike Leadership Conference 2023, the frontline Chairmanship aspirant, Mr. Obidi Onyezia, CEO/MD Obico Foams, announced Scholarship programmes to facilitate the educational needs of the financially disadvantaged children in Azu Ogbunike community, Anambra State. 

Mr. Obidi Onyezia had anounced his change agenda with a bold step in awarding Scholarship to Eleven (11) Children in Azu Ogbunike.

Speaking during the conference, Mr Onyezia said the Scholarship programme was specifically created for Azu Ogbunike children from JSS 1 to SS3 and also the programme will run for a period of 6 years. He stressed that the children must be indigenes of Azu Ogbunike, and will be drawn from the Eleven(11) families that made up the village; 1 Child each from the 11 extended kindred.

Mr. Onyezia congratulated the Convener of Azu Leadership Conference, Chief Dr Harris Chuma (Ogene Igbo), on his wonderful vision by organizing the Conference. He mandated the organizers of the conference to immediately work out the modalities for the Scholarship program and it’s implementation. Saying that the funding of the Scholarship program will be effected immediately. That he would not use Azu Ogbunike money to fund it if elected as chairman.

“The money meant for the Scholarship programme is coming from my pocket, not from Azu Ogbunike’s treasury. I am going to implement this project immediately. I call on Ogene Ogbunike and his team to pick the beneficiaries of this scholarship immediately and I will release the money now. I cannot wait till I’m elected as chairman to help my people. I have been assisting a lot of our young people in various universities, and have been quiet about it. This is not the first and will not be the last. I sincerely thank Ogene Ogbunike for bringing us together to reason like brothers deviod of fights, insults, abuses and sentiments, this type of event has not happened before in this community. And we welcome it” Obidi Onyezia said.

In a thank you message, the Chief Convener of Azu Ogbunike Development Initiative (ADI) Chief Dr Harris Chuma-Odili a.k.a Ogene Ogbunike, thanked Mr Obidi Onyezia for his great philanthropist gesture, and equally granting the ADI the privilege to ensure the programme is successfully executed.

Ogene said that the Azu-Ogbunike Development Initiative will open up an educational endowment trust-fund to warehouse the funds meant for the implementation of the scholarship scheme, and will periodically publish the statement of account.
