Gov Emmanuel On Massive Rejuvenation Campaign For Secondary Health Institutions – Udoh

Governor Udom Emmanuel is undertaking massive campaign to rejuvenate secondary health institutions in Akwa Ibom State.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Charles Udoh made this know in Uyo when he appeared live on a Planet Radio 101.1FM programme, Akwa Ibom Mandate.

Charles Udoh said, the campaign is targeted at eradicating the manual filing system of patients’ healthcare records from General Hospitals in the state with the introduction of computerization of patients’ records in the hospitals.

He said the measure is to enhance speedy delivery of medicare to patients as their records will be accessible at any general hospital across the state with completion of computerization which is to network all information on the databank of all secondary the health institutions.

Udoh who said the rejuvenation exercise started at Etinan General Hospital with complete overhaul and rehabilitation of the health institution stated that the exercise witnessed both reconstruction work and provision of state –of-the-arts medical equipment to the hospital.

Maintaining that, Etinan General Hospital had hitherto remained in a sordid state of disrepair for years before the advent of the Governor Udom Emmanuel-led administration, the Commissioner said, the rehabilitated health institution was commissioned by the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo during the 30th Anniversary celebration of the State.

The Information boss disclosed that 25 containers of state-of-the-arts medical equipment have been procured by the state government for the rehabilitated general hospitals reiterating that so far Ikono General hospital has been completely computerized while 4 others are undergoing upgrade and computerization including Ituk Mbang, Ikot Okoro, Etinan and Immanuel General hospital in Eket.

Speaking on the rumours of non-availability and accessibility of the Made in Akwa Ibom Syringes produced by Jubilee Syringe Manufacturing company, Charles Udoh said, the syringes can be found on the shelves of Pharmacies, Chemists and hospitals across the state emphasizing that, there is need for people to take a trip at their leisure to visit factories and projects undertaken by government rather than sit on the fence to be fed with rumours and lies.

On campaign of calumny, mudslinging and blackmail against the government and the person of the Governor by some unscrupulous members of the public, Udoh said, the Governor will not spare his precious time to join issues with blackmailers as they constitute distraction but will rather spend all his time pursuing project Akwa Ibom geared at sustainable development for the people of the state.

He said Project Akwa Ibom is about the future of Akwa Ibom state pivoted on the provision of sustainable live touching projects by government to the people and not gigantic ephemeral monuments that do not impact on the lives of the common man in the society.

Udoh, emphasized that Governor Udom Emmanuel will not dance to the gallery by playing politics with projects reiterating that, this underscores the Governor’s interest and commitment to projects in such sectors like Health, Education and Agriculture which touch directly on the lives of the people.

He expressed with happiness that, the agricultural renaissance in the state is yielding fruits with the market price of garri now reduced, selling at 12cups for N200 while the education sector has also recorded significant improvement but the tripling of pupils/students enrollment in schools in the state.

He called on all Akwa Ibom people especially the undecided segment of the populace to check through the records of achievements of Governor Udom Emmanuel within his first 3 years and that of past administrations juxtaposing them with the Funds that accrued to the state within the period under review and make conclusions on the performance of the Governor.

The Information Boss maintained that, most performing states across Nigeria within the past 3 years are PDP states with projects to show as well as a vibrant public sector with up-to-date payment of workers salaries and called on all to come on board PDP and join Governor Udom Emmanuel in building Project Akwa Ibom.
