The Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia celebrated its 5th anniversary today, with Governor Chukwuma Soludo joining His Eminence, Peter Cardinal Okpaleke, and other distinguished guests to mark the occasion.
During the luncheon ceremony, Cardinal Okpaleke unveiled his vision to build a welfare home for the aged and vulnerable, a project aimed at providing care and support to those in need.
Governor Soludo, who was in attendance, expressed his support for the initiative, stating that it aligns with his administration’s values of compassion and empathy. He congratulated the Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia on its milestone anniversary and pledged his commitment to supporting the diocese’s humanitarian efforts.
The event was attended by prominent Ndi Anambra, including P.I.N Ikwueto SAN, APGA National Chairman, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, Chief Cletus Ibeto, and Rt. Hon. Paschal Agbodike MHR Ihiala Federal Constituency. Others include, Engr. Emeka Ezenwanne, Prof, Sylvia Ifemeje, the Anambra State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Chief Patrick Ubajiaka (Ike Nnewi) and Dr Chibueze Ofobuike, the Mayor of Aguata LGA.
The Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia was created by the Holy See five years ago, and since then, it has been actively involved in various charitable and humanitarian endeavors in the state.
