The Executive Governor of Imo State and Vice Chairman, Progressives Governors’ Forum, Senator Hope Uzodinma, has welcomed Ebonyi State Governor, Engr. David Umahi to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Reacting to Umahi’s defection, Uzodinma said, “I wish to most heartily welcome my brother and friend, His Excellency, Engr. Dave Nweze Umahi, the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, to the forum of the Progressives, the All Progressives Congress (APC)”.
“The news that Governor Dave Umahi has formally joined me in the APC came to me, particularly, as one to cheer as a result of my former status as the only APC Governor in the SouthEast. Now, I have a brother Governor in the same political family.”
“Recall that on my assumption of office as the Governor of Imo State, I assured that I am on a mission of political evangelism, to convert the entire Southeast to the family Progressives. I am happy that today, with Ebonyi in the kitty, the journey is only but for a little while.”
“I am also happy that our people are heeding the clarion call on the political need for our people to be hooked onto the National political grid in order to attract meaningful developments to the region.”
“We are building a new brand of APC, both in Imo State and the Southeast Zone and I am optimistic that in no time, our efforts will be manifest in attracting more South-East Governors and top political leaders into the party, including more Federal presence and the attendant infrastructural projects to the region” Gov Hope Uzodinma concluded.
