Graduates Of Agricultural Training Visit Ojodu LCDA Mayor, Hon Odunmbaku

New graduands of the recently concluded one month intensive training under the Lagos Agricultural Programme (LAP) today visited the Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Lagos State, Hon Segun Odunmbaku, to show appreciation for the training.
The Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture training, which was specifically targeted at young people, retirees, entrepreneurs, graduates and secondary school leavers, was facilitated and fully paid for by the administration of Hon Segun Odunmbaku to train farmers on agricultural enterprises like Poultry, Crops, Piggery, Fishery, Cattle, Sheep and Goat, Snail, Rabbit /Grasscutter rearing and Farm Management at the Farm Service Center at Oko Oba.
The graduands, through their Team Leader, Seun Olowolade, appreciated the Chairman for the opportunity to learn new farming methods and skills through the programme. They also solicited for the Council’s support through capital, machinery, tools and other essentials to practice the skills and agricultural practices they have learnt during the training.
Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, while welcoming them as a farmer himself, intends to introduce the graduands to another level of innovative agricultural technology which is soilless farming to further deepen thier knowledge and expertise.
He also stated the Council is looking forward to further supporting the farmers in all aspects and announced that procedures would be put in place to create cooperatives for the farmers while Ojodu LCDA would serve as the offtakers for the farm produce of these trained farmers at the Ojodu Food Mart that will be established soon.
The meeting, which became an exchange of ideas on agricultural practices and innovations between the Chairman, who is an agro-entrepreunear himself, afforded the graduands the rare opportunity to gain from the Council Mayor’s wealth of experience.
In attendance at the meeting were the HOD Agricultural Department, Mr. Otukoya and Youth Ambassador, Mr. Luqmon Apampa.
