A 45-year-old night guard, Kehinde Adelere has landed in trouble after the efficacy of his native charm failed to prevent robbery operation at a place he was emploved to secure.
He was arrested and charged before a Lagos court. He is now cooling his head in the prison.
Ondo State-born Adelere was charged with negligence of duty by not preventing robbers who burgled a supermarket and carted goods worth N750,000
The incident happened at 45 Atoke Olusanya street in Igando, a suburb of Lagos where Adelere was engaged as night guard
PM EXPRESS gathered that Adelere’s only weapon has been his native charms which he usually dropped around the area he was engaged to secure .
According to residents, the charms seem to be working for him until the recent disappointment.
On the day of the incident, it was learnt that the robbers invaded the supermarket, burgled the place and carted away goods.
In the morning when it was discovered that the supermarket has been burgled, Adelere was invited to explain what happened. A surprised Adelere was initially speechless. He said he was on duty that fateful night, adding that he used all the materials he usually made to safeguard the supermarket. He said he too could not explain how the robbers made their ways into the area to rob.
A disappointing Adeleke was handed over to the police who arraigned him before a Magistrate court sitting in Ejigbo,Lagos. He pleaded guilty and was granted bail .
He was however remanded in the prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
