Girish Sharma, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Guinness Nigeria Plc, has been honoured with the Industry Icon Award at the ADVAN African Awards for Marketing Excellence 2026, in recognition of his outstanding leadership and contributions to organisational growth within Nigeria’s marketing and business landscape.

The prestigious recognition, presented on Saturday, March 28, celebrates Sharma’s transformational leadership, strategic vision, and sustained commitment to driving business innovation, brand excellence, and commercial performance across the organisation. Under his stewardship, Guinness Nigeria Plc has strengthened its market positioning while advancing purposeful growth and stakeholder value.

Receiving the award on his behalf was Rotimi Odusola, Corporate Relations and Legal Director, Guinness Nigeria Plc, who represented the company at the ceremony attended by leading marketing professionals, corporate executives, and industry stakeholders from across Africa.

Speaking on the award, Odusola described the recognition as a reflection of collective effort and purposeful leadership within the organisation.

In addition, Guinness also earned third position in the Experiential Campaign of the Year category for its widely celebrated Match Day Trophy Tour, a fan-engagement platform that brought football passion closer to consumers while reinforcing Guinness’ longstanding association with sport and culture across Nigeria.
