Hamzat To Chair, Adebule As Special Guest As TheGazelleNews Honours BKO, Antar Laniyan On Wednesday

 

All roads lead to the Ijakadi Hall of the prestigious Radisson Blu Hotel on Isaac John Street, GRA Ikeja on Wednesday, 15th July, 2026, as TheGazelleNews holds its annual public lecture.

 

The theme for this year’s event is: Driving Grassroots Governance with Public-Private Partnership: The Gains, The Pains, The Prospects.

 

The Deputy Governor of Lagos State and All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Candidate for the state, Dr Kadir Obafemi Hamzat will be Chairman at the occasion while the Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District and former Deputy Governor of the state, Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule will be the Special Guest of Honour.

 

The Keynote Speaker will be the Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Media and Public Communications, Chief Sunday Dare.

 

The Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, RT Honourable Mojisola Lasbat Meranda; former Deputy Chief of Staff to ex-Osun Governor and Chief Operating Officer of TSAT/Thuraya Nigeria, Dr Abdullahi Adeyanju Binuyo; the Special Adviser to Governor Sanwo-Olu on Sustainable Development Goals, Dr Oreoluwa Finnih; the Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government, Abdul Ganiyu Vinod Obasa; and his counterpart from Abeokuta North Local Governent, Dr Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo will discuss the main lecture by Chief Dare.

 

Former President of Nigerian Guild of Editors, Mrs Funke Egbemode will moderate the event.

Award highlights of the event are:

Presentation of Industry Icon Award to popular media practitioner, and public analyst, Babajide Kolade-Otitoju for the Media Industry; and veteran actor, Antar Laniyan for the Movie Industry.

Three prominent politicians: Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, Asiwaju Olorunfumi Basorun and Chief Jide Ojuko will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for their immense contributions to governance, democracy and growth of the country.

 

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs and former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, will be the Mother of the Day, while the Agbaoye of Ibadanland, Chief Kola Karim, will be the Father of the Day.

 

Another highlight of the event is the special medical presentation to be provided by Biomedical Pharmaceutical Limited.

 

The Chairperson of the Organising Committee of the event, Mrs. Adetutu Audu-Adebisi, stated that TheGazelleNews Annual Public Lecture has provided avenue for policy makers interact and find ways of moving the country forward on various burning national issues.
