Ahead of the commencement of the NNL season this Wednesday, Heartland FC of Owerri has unveiled her new recruits in a colourful ceremony at the Dan Anyiam Stadium.
Speaking to Imo SWAN, Mr. Promise Nwachukwu appreciated the Governor for the choice of Hon Emeka Okoronkwo as Commisioner for Sports assuring that with the support of the Commisioner, Heartland FC is prepared to achieve her goals and return to the top flight.
“We thank the Governor for appointing the Commissioner, who loves to do the right things at the right time. With him by our side Heartland is coming back to the NPFL. Watch out for a new Heartland!”
Reacting the soft spoken administrator, Hon Emeka Okoronkwo, assured the players of Government’s commitment and urged them to bring up their game to enable the club achieve her goals .
“The government has told me to inform you that you are going to get all the necessary support incentive and encouragement to ensure that Heartland FC, our darling club, leaves the lower league. His Excellency was not happy that Heartland went down but the club must show their remorse for the demotion with a quick return to the Premier league.
