Renowned philanthropist and businessman, High Chief Azubuike Austin Ekweozor, popularly known as Ide Umuawulu, is set to be honoured as the Philanthropist of the Year based on his tireless efforts to give back to his community and beyond.
The award will be given to him at the upcoming AMTY Awards scheduled for Saturday, 22nd March, 2025.
In a letter to Chief Azubuike Ekweozor, the organisers hinted that Ide Umuawulu’s philanthropic endeavors have had a profound impact on the lives of many. “Ide has offered scholarships to indigent children, built houses for homeless widows, and provided financial empowerment to hundreds of youths.”
“In addition to his philanthropy in Anambra, Ide Umuawulu has also made significant contributions to his business environment in Lagos. He single-handedly constructed a road network valued at N80 million for residents of Okota, Lagos State, demonstrating his commitment to giving back to his community”, the group Said.
The group stated that apart from his own personal programs, Ide has always supported government efforts too in their bid to engage young people to be useful in the society. He has committed huge resources to government programs aimed at alleviating poverty.
High Chief Ekweozor is a qualified and registered Freight Forwarder with the Council for the Regulations of Freight Forwarding Practice in Nigeria (CRFFN) and has incorporated several businesses in the industry and was Former NAGAAF Chairman Tincan Island Port.
