Hon. Comr. Asefon To Partner NIDCOM On Diaspora Student’s Welfare Improvement

The Senior Special Assistant to the President of Nigeria on Students Engagement, Hon. Comr. Sunday Dayo Asefon (GCNS) paid a working visit to Hon. Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO –  Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) to develop a synergy for the  improvement of the welfare and protection of the interest  of Nigerians in the Diaspora most particularly the Students.

Hon. Asefon panegerised the NIDCOM Boss for her unrelenting and painstaking efforts in advocating for the welfare of Nigerians in the Diaspora, students inclusive.
He particularly commended NIDCOM CEO for speaking out over the gruesome murder of a Nigerian student in Canada and the Chairman’s unrelenting position in demanding for utmost respect and enforcement of the right Nigerians in the Diaspora.Comr Asefon further eulogised Nidcom Boss for her participation and useful contribution at the “End of the Year Virtual Summit” of The National Association of Nigerian Students, Philippines Zone.

He further Intimated the NIDCOM Chairman of his desire to collaborate with her office to address the challenges facing Nigerian Students in Diaspora.

Responding to the visit, Hon. Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa commended Hon. Comr. Sunday Asefon for the visit and expressed her readiness to collaborate with his Office as The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Students Engagement in the overall interest and welfare of Nigerian Students across the globe.

She decried the enrollment of Nigerian Students in foreign Universities that lacks adequate facilities for thier studies and specifically called out a University in Ghana which operates inside a market.

She further expressed sadness over the unwanton killing of Nigerians in Northern Cyprus and enrollments of Nigerian Students in non- standardised European and African Universities

She urged The SSA to The President on Students Engagement to expedite efforts in the sensitisation of Nigerian Students on the need to do due deligence before enrolling in foreign Universities and to further refrain from attending foreign Institutions that lack critical infrastructures that supports thier education.
