The Deputy Majority and Honorable Member representing Ikeja Consistency 2 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Adedamola Richard Kasunmu (ARK) has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and fellow Nigerians on the occasion of the celebration of Democracy Day.
Hon Kasunmu, in his message, said, “On this occasion of year 2023 Democracy Day celebration, I join millions of democrats across the length and breadth of Nigeria, to celebrate with our President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all lovers of true freedom and justice in our nation”.
“This year’s edition is classic and unique for three (3) major reasons among others:
(1)-It  marks the 30th anniversary of the annulment of the freest and fairest election in the history of Nigeria;
(2)-it is the first ever Democracy Day celebration under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the generalissimo of the June 12 actualization struggle and a hero of democracy himself and
(3): It symbolizes the actualization of the June 12 vision, via the coming to power of a notable acolyte of *Bashorun M.K.O. Abiola*, in the person of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In other words, this year’s celebration highlights the reality of *Hope ’93*,  finally finding expression in the *Renewed Hope* mantra of this administration.”
“There are several lessons to learn from this: It teaches us that in the journey of life, true success only comes through hardwork, perseverance, focus, loyalty, relationship-building and consistency.
These are the uncommon traits demonstrated by President Tinubu in the last 30 years that made today’s Democracy Day celebration an outstanding one.”
“As we celebrate today, it is our prayers that the labours of our heroes past and present shall never be in vain. It is also our prayers that, souls of those who lost their lives to the struggle will find peaceful rest and our democracy will continue to flourish under and beyond this administration.”
“The slogan of June 12 under Hope ’93 was *”Farewell to Poverty”*, without doubt, poverty, insecurity and other negativities are about to become a thing of the past in Nigeria under the Presidency of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Happy Democracy Day to you all.
May Nigeria succeed!” Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu concluded.
