The All Progressives Congress, APC candidate for Ikeja Constituency 2 and the incumbent Lawmaker representing the Constituency at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu (ARK), took his re-election campaign to Ogba Phase 2 Estate Saturday evening.
During the tour, the youth of the estate engaged Hon. Kasunmu in a very stimulating interactive session.
The session, which was moderated by the Estate Chairman, ESV Ismail Olorunmibe, started with a keynote remark from Hon Kasunmu after which the youth set the ball the rolling with a barrage of questions, observations and demands ranging from more governmental presence, development and upgrading of the Estate as well as provision of recreational facilities.
In his previous visit, the youth had earlier registered their displeasure over the communication gap between the Lawmaker and the community.
The attendance was about 60 and questions were taken from a good number of the participating youth.
Responding to the questions one after the other, Hon. Kasunmu apologized for all observed lapses with reasonable explanations. He also took time to reel out some of his scorecards in the last 8 years, promising to do more if re-elected once again.
To demonstrate his commitment to some of the requests made at the meeting, Hon. Kasunmu announced the immediate donation of a Snooker Board, Table Tennis Board and a Giant Bouncy castle to the Estate. He also promised to support the completion of the ongoing Estate Recreation centre project.
Apart from these, the Lawmaker also promised to include the youth in his coming ICT and other skills acquisition trainings, JAMB and GCE Registration as well as University admission assistance and job opportunities.
Notable actor, Kingsley Ogboso, who accompanied Hon. Kasunmu to the meet-up, also promised to engage interested youths in professional acting and entertainment trainings.
Comrade Sodiq Ayantokun, who was also part of Hon ARK entourage, spoke to the youth on the importance of acquiring digital skills, promising to assist in this regard.
Ojodu LCDA Youth Leader, Comrade Mayor Adedigba, seized the opportunity of the meeting to announce the allocation of 2 slots of Training and empowerment facilitated by Hon. Faleke to the youth.
The session ended on a colourful and cordial note with assurances of massive vote support for Governor Sanwoolu and Hon. ARK.
This is Hon. Kasunmu’s second visit to the area, having been to Oluwole and Sogunro Estates earlier in the week. He has also been to Agidingbi, Akiode, Omole, Adekunle, WemaBoard Estate and others axis.
