OSENI OWOLABI AJIMOMUYA
As the 2019 general election draws closer, politicians are also moving closer to electorates in their respective constituencies. The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, seems to be leaving no stone untouched as the LG Boss strongly believes and supports the house-to-house campaign in the Local Government Area.
The eloquent Council Mayor took it upon himself to lead the APC candidates to the eight political wards in Somolu, from Akoka to Fadeyi, from Ijebutedo to Bajulaiye.
The coordinator of Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Independent Campaign Group, BOSICG, in Somolu, Hon. (Engr) Abiodun Orekoya, had earlier worked with councilors, supervising councilors, ward chairmen, House of Assembly aspirants and other BOSICG members to identify opinion leaders in each ward, making it easier for door to door campaign.
Despite having over 10,000 registered members in Somolu, the ruling party, APC, is not rellenting as the party Chairman in Somolu, Hon Femi Taiwo, is working closely with the Local Government Chairman, House of Representatives and House of Assembly Candidates.
The candidates, Hon. (Prince) Ademorin A. Kuye (House of Representatives, Somolu Federal Constituency) and Hon. Rotimi Olowo (House of Assembly, Somolu Constituency 1) thronged the venues of the meeting with opinion leaders in each ward.
The opinion leaders, who were mostly non-politicians declared their support for all APC candidates in the forthcoming general election through the love they have for Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu led administration of Somolu Local Government.
A resident of Ijebutedo, who identified herself as Iya Ayo, said voting and ensuring APC candidates win the general election will make Dullar to do more. “In less than two years in office, Dullar has turned around Somolu for good, if we vote APC in the Federal and State, he will do better”, Iya Ayo said.
