The Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Lagos State, Hon Segun Odunmbaku, held a significant meeting with the Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Lagos State Chapter, Commander Abubakar Liman Wali.
The meeting was aimed to foster collaboration between Ojodu LCDA and NDLEA in the fight against drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking Ojodu and environs. With the rising concerns over substance abuse among youths and its detrimental effects on society, the Council Chairman underscored the importance of concerted efforts to address this pressing issue.
During the meeting, both parties discussed strategies to intensify awareness campaigns on the dangers of drug abuse, enhance surveillance and intelligence gathering and strengthen enforcement measures to curb the illicit drug trade in Ojodu LCDA.
Hon Segun Odunmbaku emphasized the LCDA’s commitment to supporting the NDLEA’s efforts in eradicating drug-related crimes, safeguarding the well-being of residents and creating a safe and conducive environment for residents.
Commander Abubakar Liman Wali commended the proactive approach of the Hon. Segun Odunmbaku administration in addressing the drug menace and expressed readiness to collaborate closely with local authorities and community stakeholders to achieve common goals.
In conclusion, the Council Chairman and the Commander affirmed their commitment to working hand in hand to rid the community of the scourge of drug abuse and create a safer and healthier environment for all residents.
