In a major stride toward improving primary healthcare services, the Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, has officially launched the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system at Ogba Primary Health Centre. The digital platform is designed to store patients’ medical history electronically, enabling seamless access to records across all PHCs within the LCDA.
Speaking at the launch, Hon. Odunmbaku, who was the first registered recipient and received his EMR Card, emphasized that the initiative will make healthcare more efficient, eliminate manual data entry and encourage residents to visit any PHC regardless of location.
He also inspected the newly acquired ultramodern Dental Equipment, Laboratory binocular compound microscope and The Ambix Ativ pump at Ogba PHC before further disclosing that the council has deployed 13 IT-trained personnel, seven laptops and six tablets with fibre-optic Wi-Fi for the pilot phase of the EMR.
Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Tanimowo, Head Of ICT, Avoseh Olusola and Supervisor For Health, Hon Seye Oyekan, who were present at the launch, all lauded the Chairman’s vision and urged residents to register.
The EMR rollout is expected to extend to six other PHCs and align with Lagos State’s digital healthcare agenda to improve service delivery and data management.
