Police operatives from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, Lagos, have arrested three young men, who allegedly gang-raped two married women and robbed them of their belongings during sex romp in popular hotels.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects, Abubakar Sadina, 23, ThankGod Moses, 27 and Wisdom Bassey, 25, were tracked following intelligence report that they target married women, lure them into hotels and gang-rape them before they rob the women of their belongings.
One of their tricks was said to be using hookup to track married women, who are in need of young men for sexual satisfaction with an undisclosed arrangement.
Two women, Mrs. Blessing and Mrs. Amanda (other names withheld ), who had been victims of their brutal criminal attacks, reported to the Police. The operatives trailed, eventually arrested and detained at SCID, Yaba, for interrogation over their alleged conduct.
During interrogation, they reportedly confessed and their victims identified them as well.
Having been found culpable, they were consequently charged before the Yaba Magistrate Court for conspiracy, rape and armed robbery, which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
According to the Police, the suspects had on 9th April, 2024, lured Mrs. Blessing to the Wazobia Hotel in Ikeja, gang-raped her with a jack nife, tied her legs, hands, sealed her mouth with cello tape and snatched her iPhone and ATM card, which they used to withdraw all the money in her account and escaped.
In the same manner, they lured Mrs. Amanda to Maison Hotel in Ojelegba, gang-raped her, tied her hands and legs before they robbed her of an iPhone including money and escaped.
When they were arraigned, the Court did not take their plea after the prosecutor, Supol Thomas Nurudeen, asked the Court to give a date and refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice because of the nature of the alleged offence.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. P.E. Nwaka, ordered their remand in custody at the correctional center pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned till 10th July, 2024, for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
