How Car Dealer Foiled Attempts By Driver & Guard To Sell Boss’ SUV

Police operatives from the Lagos State Command have revealed how a car dealer foiled attempt by a driver and security guard to sell a Toyota Highlander SUV valued at N3m belonging to their boss before they were arrested.

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports as was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed that the two suspects were in Police custody undergoing interrogation over their alleged conduct.

 

The Police image maker did not disclose the name of the car dealer for security reasons and the suspects because of the ongoing investigation over the alleged theft.

 

However, he explained that the suspects were arrested while trying to sell the vehicle, which has been reported to have been stolen by undisclosed suspects.

 

While the Police were investigating the alleged theft, the suspects took the vehicle to the car dealer, who suspected the vehicle and checked the documents the suspects gave to him as genuine owners of the vehicle.

The suspects ran out of luck as the car dealer called the number on the vehicle documents presented to him and he was told that the vehicle was missing and the owner had already reported to the Police.

 

Thus, the car dealer contacted the Police. The suspects were arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over their alleged conduct against their boss.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin stated that following the tip-off from the unnamed car dealer, the car thieves were arrested while the stolen SUV was recovered and kept at the station as exhibit.

 

During interrogation, the Police discovered that the suspects were the driver and security guard to the owner before they conspired and stole the vehicle.

 

SP Benjamin Hundeyin stated: The car had been reported stolen some days earlier. After the car thieves brought the Toyota Highlander to a car dealer, he later discovered that the vehicle was stolen after calling the number on the vehicle documents for confirmation.”

Hundeyin, who hailed the car dealer for raising alarm over a stolen vehicle and wrote,
“Be like Nonso! Nonso (not real name) is a car dealer. One day, Galadima Adamu and Abubakar Lawal brought a Toyota Highlander to Nonso, offering to sell it for N3 million.”

“Nonso called the number on the vehicle documents for confirmation, which led to the discovery that the men were the driver and security guard of the owner of the vehicle. They had indeed stolen the car some days earlier.”
“Vehicle has been recovered, suspects in custody and prosecution follows. Nonso is a smart man. Be like Nonso!” he stated.
