Celebrity Native Doctor, Chukwudozie Nwangwu, a.k.a Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki, was reportedly kidnapped on Sunday and two of his personal security were shot dead by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers at Oba, Idemili area of Anambra State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the celebrity native doctor, popularly known due to the calibre of people he has worked for and also mingled with, was abducted at his Triple P Hotel by the gunmen in Oba community.
The unidentified gunmen were said to have stormed the hotel at about 11.30 pm and shot sporadically. And while his security aides made attempts to rescue him, they were shot dead and Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki was taken away to an unknown place.
The popular Anambra State-based native doctor and indigene of Oba was kidnapped with ease by the abductors, which surprised many who heard about his abduction.
He was regarded to be among the strongest native doctors in Anambra State and the manner he was kidnapped with two of his personal aides gunned down gave suspicion that his spiritual powers may have failed him.
This was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, who said the incident happened around 11:30pm on Sunday night.
Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki was born in 1998 and is also regarded as the richest native doctor in Anambra. His father is a prestigious Traditional Doctor famously known as Mmiri Mara Ugo Onye Oba.
He was regarded as a successful native doctor because of his claims of having spiritual powers know as Nwa Ocha and Odeshi charms, which he prepares and gives to people for protection.
In 2022, he built and launched two hotels regarded as the biggest in Oba but the ease of his abduction has put a question mark on his rumoured strength as many people are reported to flock his mansion in Oba for anti-bullet charms and other money rituals. He has also boasted severally about how powerful he was.
The Police have started manhunt for the abductors as ordered by the Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, who has ordered that operatives go after his abductors and ensure his release as disclosed by the Police spokesman.
