A 42-year old man, Auwalu Shuaibu, has landed in trouble in Adamawa State for sexually assaulting his 9-year old biological daughter after mistaken her for his wife at night as he was drunk and high on an illicit substance.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the State Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, has ordered for his immediate arrest and prosecution for the alleged dastardly act on his biological daughter having been arrested for the act.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Ngurore, who confirmed that Auwalu was arrested after he confessed that he believed her daughter to be his wife.
The Police image maker stated that the suspect, Auwalu, confessed to the crime, stating that the incident happened after he returned from a meeting in Gizga with his friend, Bashiru, around 6pm and was heavily drunk and high on illicit substance.
“He told the Police that they drank whisky and later went to the cattle market to buy illicit substances. And after their return, he fell asleep and woke up to find his daughter beside him, whom he mistook for his wife and engaged her in the act.
The matter was reported to the Police. He was subsequently arrested and detained at the station, where he made confessional statements. He also expressed regret over what happened and said he had given up drinking alcohol and using illicit substances.
The suspect, Auwalu, risks several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment for the alleged incest. But that will be after the conclusion of investigations by the Police and if he is found culpable for the alleged offence under the Criminal Laws of the State.
