Details about behind the scenes move orchestrated by Eze Emmanuel Chukwuakalikamadu have surfaced; how he conspired, lied to the Nigerian Police and disrupted the planned N6.1m 5th Offalla festival of Eze Umenweke Chukwukadibe over Ezendigbo tussle in Oriade LCDA in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports as was disclosed by Eze Chukwukadibe on the heels of condemnations, which trailed the action of Eze Chukwuakalikamadu as plans by Ndieze in Lagos State to sack him thickens by the day.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that there has been series of meetings after the ugly incident and one of the meetings was held at the palace of the Supreme Court of Ndieze in Lagos State led by Eze Lawrence Nnamdi Eze and his deputy, Eze Vincent Iwobi.
The meeting was attended by the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, king maker – Chief John Uche, Ndieze and other prominent Igbo leaders.
It was gathered that Eze Lawrence Eze and Chief Uche had waded into the matter in the past and resolved that Eze Chukwukadibe and Eze Chukwuakalikamadu should maintain peace and accommodate each other as Ezendigbo 1 and 2 of Oriade LCDA.
However, Eze Chukwukadibe accepted because such had happened where there is more than one Ezendigbo in one LCDA such as Mushin, Alimosho, Ejigbo, Agege etc,, while Eze Chukwuakalikamadu refused and that was what informed his action to disrupt the event using the Nigerian Police.
Narrating what happened, Eze Chukwukadibe explained that he was crowned Ezendigbo of Oriade LCDA in 2015 and his palace is located at No. 8 Olubodun Crescent, off Galaxy Olola Community, Ijegun, Satellite town, Oriade LCDA, but Eze Chukwuakalikamadu started claiming to be Ezendigbo in Oriade LCDA two years ago and lied to the Police that he does not have property in Oriade LCDA.
On how be became Ezendigbo in Oriade LCDA, he narrated that it started with Eze Ogidi as Obi Onireke and after that, he Eze Ogidi offered him the Ezeship in Oriade, which was a new community as at 2015.
“Initially I declined but according to the then President of Ohanaeze, Nnia Nwodo (2015), it was the last Ezeship coronation for any person. So I came back from Germany to accept the Eze. After 2015, I was doing my duty and Eze Ogidi carried me to Ohanaeze because he was the chairman of Eze in Council Ohanaeze for 18years. Then in 2019 when Eze Ogidi died, the council people said that I must carry out customary rites by killing a cow and do an event in Oriade. I did all that I was asked to do and I have proofs.”
“In 2021, one Ochiagha, who was a chief in the council and self acclaimed king maker, who killed the cow in my compound for the event, said he was not very comfortable the way I handled politics and Biafra. He told the council he will get a new Eze, who will favour his political views. I came back from Abuja one day and i heard that another Eze has been crowned. I wanted to take action but people told me that I shouldn’t bother because there are some places in Lagos that had more than one Ezes for instance Ejigbo which had four Eze, same with Ojo and Ikeja.”
“The Title of Eze does not come with money instead you spend, so I left the new Eze alone, who happened to be Eze Chukwuakalikamadu. This is the 5th Ofala that I am celebrating and I suddenly got a call from Area E Command, FESTAC to see them. I declined because I was not feeling too well. I later heard that the man I had paid the event centre was taken to the Police station and forced to write an undertaking that the Ofalla event will not take place on the day of the event.”
“I went to the Area Command and with the intervention of Eze C. C Nwokedi, who is the chairman council of Ndi-Eze Lagos State, who made calls for the event centre to be reopened. The I. P. O was ordered to open it around 1pm so that the party could start. The I. P. O insisted on sorting it out in the Eze palace before reopening the event centre by the time we could sort things out, it was already 5pm. All of these problems started from Eze Chukwuakalikamadu, who was not even crowned as Ezendigbo of Oriade LCDA rather coronated by Ochiagha, the king maker as Eze Udo Oriade.”
“My Eze title is different and if I honour him (Ochiagha), he will bring the new Eze to come and pay me homage but I declined because his hands are not clean and in his hometown, Oraukwu, he was expelled for this same attitude.”
“He even threatened to spill blood at my Ofalla party and that was my 5th Ofalla and all of them attended my last Ofalla festival. So by the time we started the Ofalla party by 5pm, all my guests were gone and all the food we cooked we had to give to beggars. What I lost because of his actions that day was N6,154,000. That is 6million plus with that being said, I will write to the chairman council of Ndi Eze and copy the letter to Area E before I take judiciary action that is if i am not satisfied with their responses.”
As at the time of filing this report, it was not yet confirmed if the Chairman of Council of Ndieze has decided on what to do to Eze Chukwuakalikamadu.
