How Fake Soldier Was Arrested With Full Military Uniform & Rank

Police operatives from the Isheri Oshun Division of the Lagos State Command have arrested a fake Military officer, Femi Balogun, who was claded in uniform with the rank of Sergeant Major (RSM), while impersonating in the State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect,  Balogun, was apprehended on Saturday 30th March, 2024, at about 3pm in Ijegun area of the State within the riverine community, which had been notorious for pipeline vandalism and perceived as haven for various criminal activities.
According to Police sources, the suspect, Balogun, has been on the wanted list of the Nigerian Army for impersonation over a period and had evaded arrest severally before he was eventually arrested.
The suspect’s mission in the area was not disclosed by the Police, who apprehended him while on routine monitoring patrol along Fagbile Estate in Ijegun.
When our correspondent visited to get details of the arrest, the DPO of the Isheri Oshun Division, SP Uzoma, was said to have gone on routine monitoring in the area.
However, Police sources at the station hinted that the suspect has been transferred to the Commissioner of Police Special Squad at Ikeja Headquarters for further investigation over the matter.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest and said the military had been contacted and the suspect, Balogun, was confirmed to be a fake soldier upon interrogation.
He also confirmed that the suspect has been transferred to the CPSS for further investigation and will be charged before the Court for prosecution over his alleged conduct after the conclusion of investigations by the Police.
