Facts have emerged on how a suspected human trafficking kingpin, Muritala Sanni, was  arrested by the Police operatives after five years of manhunt in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the suspect, Sanni, had evaded Police arrest for those years to the extent it was rumoured that he had magical powers that made him invincible and could not be trapped.

However, the myth came to an end after Sanni was arrested on Wednesday, September 23, at his hideout in a hotel in the Amukoko area of Lagos State by Policemen from the Amukoko Police Station.

A non-governmental organisation, Kick Against Human Trafficking and Human Rights Abuse Foundation, was said to have facilitated the arrest and handover to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for prosecution.

Sanni was reportedly arrested after one of his victims was used as a bait to trick him to the hotel and he fell into the trap, was eventually arrested and detained at the Police Station for interrogation.

According to the President of Kick Against Human Trafficking and Human Rights Abuse Foundation, Ojay Akinwale, his arrest was a major success for the organisation as his alleged trafficking network cuts across Libya and East Africa.

Confirming the arrest of the suspect, the Public Relations Officer, NAPTIP, Hajara Tunde- Osho, said he will be prosecuted before the Court for the alleged offence after the conclusion of investigations.

The suspect risks several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty over the alleged offence.
