The First Lady of Ekiti State, Mrs. Olayemi Oyebanji, who until recently, was a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Education Management at the University of Ibadan, during an interview, has narrated how she met her husband, the Governor of Ekiti State.
She said that when she was still an undergraduate at the University of Ibadan, and the Governor was a post-graduate student in the same institution and funnily, she was just in 100 level when they met and she met him through her elder sister.
She said, “A Federal Road Safety Corps commander in Oyo State then, was my husband’s classmate and also a family friend and he was the one who brought my husband to our house in Ibadan, where I was living with my sister. As time went on, I found out that he is also from Ekiti State and even at that, it was not a ready-made answer to accept him. I was a good Christian, and his Ekiti origin notwithstanding, there was still a need for prayers and that was what I did”.
“I got in contact with my husband, and we became friends for a very long time before we eventually got married.”
Though she said that before she accepted him, she had already prayed about it and also received confirmation from God.
