The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a 21-year-old  lady, Precious Anegbode, for allegedly stabbing his boyfriend, Damilola, to death during a squabble.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened in the Ijegun area of Lagos, when the suspect visited the deceased boyfriend’s home and they had a fierce argument, which led to physical violence between the duo.

The altercation was said to have degenerated and the suspect, Precious Anegbode, reached for a knife and stabbed Damilola in the process.

The deceased was said to have bled profusely and the lady was wailing when the neighbours heard the noise and got to their room. They rushed the boyfriend to the hospital, where he later died.

The lady was prevented from running away after the Doctors confirmed Damilola dead and the Police were contacted. The suspect was arrested and detained at Isheri Oshun Division.

Another resident, who preferred anonymity, said the neighbours of the deceased immediately took him to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

This was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, who disclosed that the suspect was in custody undergoing interrogation over the incident.

He said, “The victim was rushed to Igando General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead on arrival. The nearest Police station, Igando Division, was contacted, and the suspect was arrested”.

“Further investigation revealed that the incident occurred in another area of responsibility, and the case was referred to Isheri Oshun. Patrol and DCB teams were mobilised, and the suspect was detained at the Igando Division. The victim’s corpse was deposited at the Igando General Hospital mortuary.”

“Photographs were taken, and the scene of the incident was visited. The knife used in the stabbing was recovered, and blood stains at the scene were documented. The suspect made confessional statements under caution. The case file and suspect exhibit will soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, Lagos, for discreet investigation.” he stated.
