Facts have emerged on how a 56-year old lawyer, Barrister Remi Oladiti, allegedly drugged and defiled a 14-year old girl, who was sent on an errand by her parents.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Oladiti, was paraded by the Oyo State Police Command Headquarters, Eleyele Ibadan, alongside 47 other suspected criminals for various offences.

This was disclosed by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Ngozi Onadeko, who said that the suspect allegedly raped the victim in May 2020 but was later arrested and paraded on Wednesday.

Onadeko said, “Upon complaint received by victim’s parents, that the victim, aged 14, of Balogun Street, Bodija, Ibadan, was sent on an errand to No. 20 Olaigbe Avenue, Bodija, to purchase pap, in the process, one Remi Oladiti gave her a bottle of Bigi Cola suspected to contain some form of sedative-hypnotic to drink, which made her fall unconscious”.

CP Onadeko maintained that following the comatose state of the victim, the suspect, who had already made a confessional statement, forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

“On regaining her consciousness, she found herself fully naked on Remi Oladiti’s bed while blood was dripping out from her private part,” Onadeko explained.

Oladiti confessed to the crime. He also quoted his Supreme Court Enrolment Number as 005508, stressing that the allegation of defilement was untrue because “the lady is 18 years plus”.

He said, “I actually had carnal knowledge of her but it was with her consent. She came to me and we had it. She is not 14 years old but 18 years plus. I did not force her, we used to be friends”.

“I did not give her any sedative drink, I don’t have a fridge in my house, she was aware of the whole situation, so I did not force her as claimed by the Police, I have a wife and daughter,” Oladiti said.
