A 20-year old man, David Felix, has landed in trouble in Kaduna State for allegedly killing his biological father for appearing in his dreams as birds with a human face and he suspected the father to be attempting to harm and disturb his progress.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Madakiya village in Zangon Kataf Local Council of Kaduna State, where they reside.
The suspect has been arrested by Police operatives from the Kaduna State Command and detained for interrogation over the alleged murder.
This was confirmed by the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, Mansur Hassan, who stated that the suspect was in Police custody undergoing interrogation over the matter.
According to the Police image maker,  the suspect allegedly decided to kill his father because he had consistently appeared in his dreams as a bird, which he had suspected was behind his woes.  Hence, the Police is probing his health profile to determine the state of his health condition.
The killing reportedly caused confusion in Madakiya village in Zangon Kataf Local Council of Kaduna State as the residents expressed shock over what happened.
The Police spokesperson, Mansur Hassan, lamented the rising cases of crime among youths in the state and expressed shock over the incident, which occurred on 30th September, 2023, but the boy was only arrested on Wednesday this week after the Police had trailed him.
“This is a strange development. When the boy was arrested, he told us that he had to take his father’s life because he always appears to him in a dream as a bird trying to attack him.”
“During interrogation at the State Police Command Headquarters in Kaduna, the suspect admitted to the crime, while expressing regret for his actions.
Felix claimed that he took ‘this extreme step’ after waking up from sleep, using a pestle to assault his father while the father was asleep.”
He stated that the suspect will be charged before the Court for the alleged murder under the Criminal Law of the State, which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment but that will be after the conclusion of investigations by the Police.
