A 35-year old man, Monday Endurance, has been arrested in Lagos State for allegedly luring a 13-year old girl into sex romp by fondling, sucking her breasts and getting her confused before he penetrated her.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Apple Junction, Snake Island, Lagos State, where they reside.
The suspect, Endurance, allegedly lured the girl into his apartment and engaged her with words of mouth. He then fondled and sucked her breasts, which got her confused and unable to resist him.
Having satisfied himself, he allowed her to go. It was at that point she regained her senses and reported what happened to her parents.
The matter was reported to the Police and he was then arrested. Endurance was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Lagos State Command for interrogation over the conduct.
During interrogation, he admitted to have done so but with her consent contrary to what the victim claimed. The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement, which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court.
However, when he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice since the alleged offence was a capital offence in the interest of justice to the parties involved.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, ordered his remand in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned till 19th January, 2023, for the DPP’s report to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
