A 34-year-old man, Okpegboro Avwerosuo, who allegedly killed his roommate, has confessed that he dismembered the body and sold the vital organs to a Pastor for ritual purposes.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Mile 2 Sagbama Town, Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State and the suspect had been arrested by the Police operatives from Bayelsa State Command.

The suspect, who hails from Ughelli North, Delta State, was said to have invited the deceased to come to Sagbama to join the motorcycling business and assured him that the business is flourishing because of the Isaac Jasper Adaka Boro College of Education (IJBCOE) sited in the area.

Just two weeks after the deceased arrived, the suspect, Okpegboro, struck him with a mortar pestle in the middle of the night, crushing his skull and killing him in the process.
He then allegedly dismembered the body, preserved the vital organs and put the other parts in separate sacks, which he disposed of in the early hours of the following day.

However, while he was disposing of the sacks, his neighbour, who saw him and suspected his movements, confronted him later about the whereabouts of his roommate but he lied that he had travelled back to Delta State for an urgent business.
Not satisfied with his response, the neighbour forced his way into the room, saw bloodstains everywhere, he held him and alerted the local vigilante who handed him over to the Police for interrogation.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed that he had sold the vital organs of his friend to a Pastor in Port Harcourt, who is currently at large for ritual purposes.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the State Command, SP Asinim Butswat, confirmed the incident and said that the suspect was in custody at SCID for further investigation.
