Jude Obasi free kick in the 82th minutes rescued Prince Kazeem Eletu Academy from defeat against Sunshine Football Academy of Apapa in a friendly match played early Friday at the Eagles Clubs, Surulere, Lagos.
The pulsating friendly match ended in 2-2 as both teams entertained their football fans with the football artistry.
Sunshine who came to the venue to beat their opponents gave a good account of themselves as Usman Eniafe opening the goal scoring for Sunshine boys in the early second half after a barren draw in the first time.
The goal spurred Eletu Academy to intensify their effort to cancel a goal deficit in the 64th minutes when Paul Okoro scored at the close range to restore parity.
Both teams missed many scoring chances in both halves. Sunshine who gave their opponents a run for their money scored the second goal through Jamiu Umar in the 72th minutes.
Sunshine who were on the verge of winning the game conceded last minute goal through Obasi free kick to force them to play draw at the regulation time.
Reacting to the match, Sunshine coach, Owolabi Ganiu commended his players for their job well done saying that both teams played good football.
“I am satisfied with the outcome of the result. Both teams played good football unfortunately we did not win Eletu. I wish to play them once again so that I can beat them,” he said.
Eletu coach, Oluwadamilare Idowu expressed satisfaction with the performance of both sides. He particularly commended his opponents for giving them a good fight saying that the game had opened his eyes to some areas where he needed to work on his players before their next game.
“Like I said I am satisfied the way my boys responded after they conceded a goal during the match. This is to show that Eletu Academy are making progressing in area of development. Anyway it was a good game for both teams and I commend both teams for job well done,” he said.
