Attendees gathered with hearts brimming with gratitude and joy, coming together to celebrate a grand event that promised to stand proudly among the country’s most notable fiestas. Originating from a commitment made during the inaugural event, this year’s carnival was a testament to Hon. Odunmbaku-led administration’s unwavering dedication to transforming it into a recurring celebration that embodies the spirit of cultural heritage and community unity. The Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) premises in Ogba, served as the vibrant backdrop for the much-anticipated second edition of the Ojodu Carnival.
Beyond mere entertainment, the Ojodu Carnival symbolized a powerful force uniting the esteemed Council members and the cherished community. It aimed not only to showcase but also to honour the richness of our cultural heritage and timeless values. The event served as a conduit through which traditions could thrive and be passed down to future generations, ensuring their vitality and preservation.
Economically significant for the local community, the carnival spotlighted brands and businesses within the LCDA, providing invaluable growth opportunities. It fostered an environment conducive to the prosperity of local entrepreneurs, recognizing the importance of supporting and uplifting the economic fabric of the LCDA.
Amidst the bustle of daily life, the carnival emerged as a much-needed source of entertainment and respite. Attendees were treated to a thrilling musical festival featuring esteemed artistes like Pasuma, and Small Doctor, promising moments of pure joy, laughter, and relaxation for all who attended.
Expressing profound gratitude, the Executive Chairman, Hon. David Odunmbaku, acknowledged the tireless efforts and dedication of committees and stakeholders instrumental in ensuring the resounding success of this year’s edition. Their relentless commitment and hard work culminated in a remarkable celebration that showcased cultural heritage, community unity, and economic growth, leaving a lasting impact on attendees and the local community alike.
Part of the activities that marked the celebration included aerobics & fitness, distribution of N50,000 to 100 nano traders as empowerment, food bazaar (food sales at discounted prices), cultural display by different groups, raffle draw where several items were won (a brand-new tricycle being the star prize), Carol, Ward parade and thrilling music fiesta. The community members also expressed their elation about the second edition of the carnival.
The event had in attendance crème de la crème in Ikeja and Lagos State.
