Demons may have overpowered a cleric, 48-year old Pastor Michael Abiodun, of “The Light House Gospel Church, as he allegedly raped a 12-year old girl during deliverance prayer session and impregnated her in the process.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the Church premises located at Oluwo in Owode Egba area of Ogun State, where the mother of the victim brought her for prayers.
The cleric, Pastor Abiodun, has been arrested by Police operatives from the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly defiling and impregnating the victim, who is a junior student in Secondary School and daughter of a member of his church.
He has equally admitted and confessed that he was overtaken by the devil while he was trying to deliver the victim from evil spirits before he committed the dastardly act.
The Pastor was arrested following information received at Owode Egba Divisional Headquarters that the victim’s mother joined the Church as a result of a spiritual problem which led to the death of two of her daughters. So, in order to prevent the victim from experiencing the same calamity, she took her to the Church for deliverance.
However, on the fateful day, Pastor Abiodun, who is father of three, asked the victim’s mother to bring her for special prayers so that the calamity will not befall her as it did to her other children.
When the victim was brought to the Pastor, he reportedly took her into a room within the Church, forcefully had carnal knowledge of her and warned her not to tell anyone about it, which later resulted to pregnancy.
Upon the report, the DPO Owode Egba Division, CSP Olasunkanmi Popoola, detailed his detectives to the scene where the Pastor Abiodun was promptly arrested and detained for interrogation over the conduct.
While being interrogated, he confessed to the crime but blamed it on the devil who overtook him during the deliverance session. He further confessed to being the one that deflowered the victim.
The victim’s mother explained to the Police that she did not know that her daughter was pregnant until seven months after. The victim, who was delivered of a baby three months ago, informed the Police that she was threatened by the Pastor with dire consequences if she informed anyone about what transpired between them, and that was the reason she did not tell her mother.
According to Police sources, Pastor Abiodun will be charged before the Court for the alleged offence but that will be after the conclusion of investigations by the Police.
