How Police Busted Kidnapper’s Den, Arrested 4 Suspects & Recovered Weapons During Operation

Police operatives from the FCT Command, Abuja, have uncovered a kidnappers’ hideout in Sauka area, located on the Airport Road of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja during an operation. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Police also arrested four suspected kidnappers at the hideout including an ex-convict, Yau Sani, a.k.a. Baba; Nuhu, a.k.a. Giwa; Kabiru Mohammed, and Yusuf Hassan.

 

The Police as well recovered assorted weapons as exhibits during the operation that lasted for several hours and eventually foiled their plans to strike Government institutions in the FCT.

 

This was disclosed by the Police Public Relation Officer of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, while confirming the arrest of the suspects who she said are in custody undergoing interrogation.

 

She stated: “The Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the FCT Police Command on October 1, acting on credible intelligence, trailed and arrested four notorious kidnappers who have been terrorising the Federal Capital Territory namely: Yau Sani, a.k.a. Baba (an ex-convict), Nuhu, a.k.a. Giwa, Kabiru Mohammed, and Yusuf Hassan, at their criminal hideout in Sauka, Abuja living within the general population.”

“The suspects confessed to being responsible for series of kidnappings of unsuspecting residents in FCT and its environs, the killing of seven victims in the process.”

“These gang members have attacked Dakwa, Dawaki, Aco Estate, Dupe Village Zuma Rock, Kuchiko Village and some villages in Niger and Kaduna.”

The Police further said the suspects led its operatives to another hideout in Gauraka Forest, Suleja, Niger State, where they dug out four AK-47 rifles, 13 AK-47 magazines, 162 rounds of 7.6 mm live ammunition.

“The suspects also confessed their intending plans to attack some government institutions and estates within the FCT, which have been proactively prevented by the command,” the PRO stated.

The Command reiterated its commitment to stamping out crime and criminality within the FCT and urged members of the public to report any suspicious or unusual activities to the police emergency lines: 08032003913, 08028940883, 08061581938, and 07057337653.

She also stated that the suspects will be charged before the Court for their alleged involvement in criminal activities but that will be after the conclusion of investigations by the Police.
