How Police Busted Kidnapper’s Den During Coordinated Operation

Police operatives from the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, led by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Tunde Disu, have busted a notorious kidnapping syndicate’s den in a coordinated operation with many of them losing their lives.

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that one of the suspects arrested alive by the Command, Abdulrahman Adamu, has confessed to have been involved in kidnapping activities while using his share of ransom money to indulge in drinking and womanizing.

 

The suspect, Adamu, was among the suspects paraded by the FCT Commissioner of Police, Tunji Disu, during a press briefing on Monday, which included Abdulrahman Giwa, Baba Hassan, Mohammed Dahiru, Abubakar Bature (alias Dayi), Abubakar Kadiri (alias Dare), Kabiru Ibrahim, Ya’u Adamu, and Hussani Ori (also known as Mugu).

 

The Police boss, CP Disu, stated that the suspects were part of a notorious gang responsible for terrorizing communities across the FCT, Kaduna, and Niger States.
He revealed that their gang leader, known only as Mallam, along with eight others, were killed during a Police operation aimed at dismantling the group’s strongholds in the Kweri and Gauraka forests.

 

“All suspects are members of a kidnapping and banditry gang led by one Mallam, surname unknown, now deceased, the suspects were neutralized after an intense gunfight. Mallam and eight other suspects were neutralized after an intense exchange of gunfire during operations targeting the strongholds of the kidnappers.”

 

“Unfortunately, two operatives of the FCT Command sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment in the hospital,” Disu added.

 

“The gang had been holding hostages in various locations, including the Gidan Dogo Forest in Kaduna, Gauraka Forest in Niger, and the Kweri and Kachia forests in Kaduna State. Several exhibits were recovered from the gang, including three AK-47 rifles, 100 rounds of live 7.62 ammunition, and 10 AK-47 magazines.”

 

Disu assured that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining members of the group and recover more arms and ammunition.

One of the key suspect, Adamu, admitted to making significant profits from his involvement in the kidnapping operations.

 

He stated: “I joined through one of my friends. He is dead now. What we do is kidnap people for money. The people I was accused of killing were based on the instructions of my boss. My boss is dead now. I have made a lot of money kidnapping people. In the last operation before we were caught, I made over N600,000. I used my own share of the ransom money to drink and carry women” Adamu confessed.
