It was the end of the road for two armed robbers, Korede Anifowose, 24 and Friday Sule, 25, who went to rob a POS operator and the operation failed as they were arrested with their operational gun in Ipaja area of Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the security strategy put in place by the Police operatives from Ipaja Division led by CSP Tokumbo Aboniwonda made it impossible for the two bandits to successfully carry out the robbery operation in the area as they were eventually caught by the Police.

While Korede Anifowose, who is an Ibadan, Oyo State Mass Communication student in a Polytechnic, was first arrested on Friday during the operation, his colleague, Friday Sule, popularly known as Frayo, was apprehended at Ile Epo Market on Tuesday where he sells plantain chips and pineapples to cover up.

It was also gathered that the suspects have already confessed and mentioned one Pastor as the one who rented the gun to them under the agreement they will give him returns after the operation.

The arrest of the suspects was confirmed by the Lagos State Police Public Relation Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi.

He stated that Korede Anifowose, of Omisakin Street, Agbelekale Abule Egba, attempted to rob one Sola Musa, a POS operator, at Fatolu Bus Stop, Ipaja, on Friday, January 22.
The suspect, Korede, and his accomplice, Friday Sule, had attacked the POS operator, who raised alarm during the attack. The suspects were chased by the Anti Crime Police Operatives stationed at the area. Korede was arrested and one locally made pistol and some expended cartridges were recovered from him.

The spokesperson of the State Police Command, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, said the Command has deemed it necessary to beam its searchlight on attackers of POS operators based on some complaints the Command has received on the antics of the criminals, who terrorize POS operators and those dealing or transacting with liquid cash in the state.

He said the State Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has mandated the Divisional Police Officers to beef up security around those dealing with liquid cash in their businesses as the Command can not afford to leave them or anyone in the state unprotected.
