Husband & Wife In Police Net For Engaging In Public Brawl

A 46-year old man, Monday Fasoro and his wife, Osunfunke, 46 have landed in trouble for allegedly engaging in fierce public fight over an undisclosed disagreement as they were arrested by the Police in Osun State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 19th December, 2022, about 04:00pm at Falolu, off Ifewara Road, Ile-Ife in Osun State, where they reside.
The couple has been charged before Court for the alleged affray before an Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court, Osun State and both were remanded pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
The prosecutor, Supol Emmanuel Abdullahi, told the Court that the defendants took part in a public fight within Falolu area of Ile-Ife by conducting themselves in a manner likely to cause breakdown of law and order by engaging in public fight, which the alleged offences contravene Sections 83 and 249(d) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
However, the defendants pleaded not guilty on the four-count charge bordering on breach of peace when they were arraigned.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.B. Adediwura, granted them bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety each in like sum, who must swear to affidavits of means and reside within the Court’s jurisdiction.
The matter was adjourned till 17th January, 2023, for mention while the defendants were ordered to be remanded in custody until they perfect their bail conditions.
