A 14-year old boy caught engaging a 5-year old girl in sex in their house in Lagos, has reportedly told Police that he was having the feeling to have sex and then took the victim in order to satisfy his sexual desire.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ogedegbe Street, GRA, Apapa, Lagos, where they reside.
He was arrested after they were caught and transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command in Ikeja for interrogation.
In the course of investigation, he reportedly confessed sleeping with the 5-year old victim.Having been found culpable by the Police despite his age, he was subsequently charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried in Court and found guilty over the alleged offence.
The Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Sule-Amzat, ordered him remanded at Juvenile Centre and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned till 6th April, 2020 for the report of the DPP to be available while the boy will remain in custody pending the outcome of DPP’s advice.
