A 37-year old man, Adegboye Opeyemi, who was arrested with human parts, has told the Police that he bought the parts from a cemetery worker and wanted to use them to perform some rituals in Osun State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Police operatives from the Osun State Command arrested the suspect, Opeyemi, while in possession of a human skull and other parts on Ifedayo Street in the Oke-Baale area of Osogbo of the State.
He was accosted and detained for interrogation over his alleged conduct for being in possession of the human parts, which is against the law.
During interrogation, he confessed that he actually bought the skull at a cemetery in Lagos State and took it to Osun State, where he wanted to use it for rituals.
This was disclosed by the Police Police Relations Officer of Osun State Command, Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed the arrest and detention of the suspect undergoing interrogation over his alleged conduct.
The Police did not disclose the kind of rituals he wanted to use the skull to do.
Opalola quoted the suspect thus: “I was arrested in possession of a human skull and other parts. I needed it for rituals. That’s why I requested it from my friend who works at a cemetery in Lagos. He sent it to me from Lagos”.
The Command’s spokesman, Yemisi Opalola, said that efforts are ongoing to arrest his accomplice while the suspect will be charged before the Court for the alleged offence under the Criminal Laws of the State which will be after the conclusion of investigations by the Police.
