The Lawmaker representing Anambra South Senatorial District and Candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) for the state’s forthcoming Gubernatorial Election, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, on Sunday, reassured his constituents and ndị Anambra in general that he will always champion policies and programmes that will promote human capital and youth development.

The Senator made the remarks during the 2021 Annual Youth Day Celebration of the Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON) (Ekwulobia Diocese) at St. Joseph’s Cathedral Ekwulobia.

According to the Senator, who was represented by the State Organizing Secretary of his party, Hon. Emmanuel Ezeokafor, developing young talents and empowering them to achieve their various ambitions remains his priority.

The YPP Candidate further urged the youth to remain diligent and law abiding, and handed over various gift items including a brand new motorcycle, electric oven, electric cookers, stand blenders, microwave oven and deep freezer to their representatives and the Diocesan Chaplain respectively.

While handing over the gifts to the beneficiaries, Senator Ubah disclosed that the items, which were funded from his private purse, are meant to assist them in their day to day activities and that he will never relent in using instruments of legislation to attract quality policies and programmes of government that will promote the wellbeing of the people.

Responding, the Diocesan CYON President, Paulinus E. Ikeh, appreciated Senator Ubah for always having the interests of the youth at heart. He further commended him for sponsoring quality Motions and Bills that will not only better the wellbeing of his constituents but will also attract adequate Federal Government presence to various parts of the state and Nigeria at large, and reassured him of the youth continuous support.

In his remarks, the Diocesan Chaplain Rev. Fr. Aloysius Amanchukwu appreciated the YPP Candidate for his relentless support to the church. He also urged him to keep the good works up and prayed God to continue to guide him in all his endeavours.

Other highlights of the event included presentation of a Philanthropic Award to Senator Ubah by CYON and cutting of the Celebration Cake.
